Interview of cee: A simple style

“I think my personality in itself (I hate using this word) is so chill, I’m a very easy-going person.” This is the first thing Cee told me about herself and after getting to know her personality and style more I discovered how true this is. 

Cee likes to keep her style more neutral with basic and easy-going pieces that she can build upon. But doesn’t stray away from experimenting, she loves to thrift pieces of fun color and eclectic jewelry to add spice to her more simple looks. 

Miss Cee is definitely a very chill person. As I was learning about her style we managed to end up in a pop up vintage store, buying cherries, and in a photo booth. Her versatile style makes it easy for her to make these on the whim decisions.  

With living in Boston Cee finds herself having her outfit dependent upon the weather. “I find myself checking the weather for every hour to know what I’ll be needing to wear/what I’ll be comfortable in.” 

The media that Cee consumes also impacts her style. The movies she watches, the influencers she is captivated by at the time, or the celebrities she follows inspire her. She likes to emulate these styles that she sees and enjoys into her life. She resonates with what she sees, then expresses that outwardly. 

Cee has many other accessories and pieces that she’d still love to try out but she said if she had everything she wanted then it would be overconsumption. Her current style is a perfect mix of what she wants her style to be vs what she already has. Cee likes to follow the same silhouette with her clothes and is able to utilize a lot of the jeans and tops that she currently has for this. 

I asked Cee if she thought that trends impact her style and how likely she will be to have the same style she has now in five years.

 “I definitely look to trends for inspiration but there was one year in highschool where I didn’t buy anything new and my style for those two years stayed the same, I remember looking back on that now and hating what I wore. So, I would definitely say I’m

influenced by some trends but I’ve been consistent with my style in the past years so I do think my style will remain the same in five years.”

Three words to describe Cee’s style would be staple, sentimental, and experimental.

Her necklaces are sentimental pieces “This one [the gold oval] was given to me by a friend, uh, we don’t speak anymore…This one has a lot of charms I’ve collected over the years three from my family in India, one was my grandfathers, one from my mom for my 9th birthday.”  

Cee’s style speaks to her personality. She is able to represent her ability to be down for anything, her easy, chill vibes, and her kind and sweet personality.
